JKL Salon was founded in 1990 in New Orleans, Louisiana by Ken and Janie LaPrairie. Janie is a highly trained stylist, platform artist and mentor. They are both highly trained educators, platform artists as well as members of Intercoiffure America, TSA and NCA.

The North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) nominated Janie and Ken six times in the academy awards of hairstyling and crowned them with 2 wins for their award-winning talent and designs in long hairdressing, color, makeover and multi-cultural.

With decades of experience, the LaPrairie’s continue to further their mission of raising the standards of the industry. They are committed to excellence and focused on training future professionals as the leaders of tomorrow.
